I love it! That little read couch could be on the front porch of a house in a college town.

ReplyDeleteLove that little poem. I always feel so sad when I occasionally see a piece of furniture tossed on the side on some country road. Not for the sofa, but for the environment.

ReplyDeletemaybe once was a ship
carving waves to a new world.
or a bright shiny car, that
one day someone would sing about.
a large fortress, it's buttresses
a shield from dalecks, cybermen
and other monsters.
Maybe a trysting tree,love
moulded into its very frame
hands held by demure sweethearts
forgotten now. Battles won or lost,
monsters & cybermen retired to
some corner of the dark, closed now.
A fortress, worn down by love &
time, then discarded.
It does look somewhat forlorn, tucked away out of sight, on the wrond side of the dividing line...
